Material-Specific CNC Machining

Brass CNC Turned Fittings and Adapters

Brass is widely used for CNC turned fittings, threaded adapters, connectors, bushings and fluid-control components. It machines efficiently but still requires attention to thread quality, sealing faces, burr control, clamping marks and surface protection.

Material Machining Behavior

Brass generally cuts cleanly, but burrs at ports, thread starts and cross-hole intersections can still affect assembly. Soft surfaces can also show marks if workholding and packing are not reviewed.

DXSCNC reviews each material together with the drawing, not as a generic material name. Workholding, cutting access, burr risk, wall thickness, threads, bores, surface finish and final treatment can all affect the machining plan and quotation.

Common Applications

Surface Treatment Notes

Brass parts may be supplied as machined, plated, polished or protected according to drawing notes. If sealing faces are present, identify which surfaces must remain clean and protected.

Tolerance and Inspection Concerns

Inspection focus can include thread gauges, bore condition, sealing face visual checks, port burr control and packing inspection before export.

  • Critical OD/ID dimensions
  • Thread fit where specified
  • Bore condition and mating surfaces
  • Burr control around holes, grooves and thread starts
  • Visual surface checks before packing
